I recently completed a painting for one of my beautiful client's new home. The brief was to add interest to the staircase wall which is largely visible on entry to her home.
I thought I would use this blog post to share the end result and give you an insight into the process behind creating a custom art work. Initially, the client emailed me photos of the space. From these photos I was able to create a series of options with the art work design. I also met the client on site to discuss the scale, shape and colours. Although I can work with photos and phone calls, it is always great to actually see the space in real prior to starting the new work. Through our meeting and email/ phone discussions we decided a 1500mm diameter round art work would fit the space and brief. This round canvas was made custom and took a few weeks of layering to achieve the end result! I used gold, black, white and orange to create this work and many layers of gesso and some gold leaf to achieve the texture and colour intensity.
My clients were extremely exited with the end result and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them!

Art Studio News. My latest work.
It is no secret that I LOVE painting! I am working on a series of large round pieces and one of which I am creating custom for a clients new home. I draw inspiration from many places and my passion for colour is something I am always experimenting with. I enjoy mixing unexpected combinations and it is very rare of me to have a plan prior to painting!

Event News. Bright Jungle Safari.
Bright orange giraffes, elephants, beautiful tropical leaves and monkeys swinging off giant confetti filled balloons! This event was gorgeous and extremely fun to style!
We were fortunate to work with a beautiful couple who were happy to take a bright and colourful twist on their son's jungle theme christening. We designed everything for this event - invitations, bonbonerie, cake & table settings. The christening was held at an Italian restaurant in the city and the cake and bonbonerie were made by Cupcake Dolly in Ramsgate. (www.cupcakedolly.com.au)

Event News. Circus Theme.
Here is a Christening and 1st Birthday that we styled for a gorgeous boy. We designed circus themed invitations, favours and table settings. The celebration was for 150 people at Grappa Restaurant in Leichhardt (www.grappa.com.au) and the three tiered cake was made by Cupcake Dolly in Ramsgate (www.cupcakedolly.com.au).
